Garrison
Located six miles west of US Highway 83 on ND Highway 37, the city
offers full service hotel/motel accommodations, restaurants,
groceries, gift shops, sporting goods, bait and tackle shops,

services. Home of Wally the 26-foot Walleye, the North Dakota Fishing Hall of
Fame and many historical sites. Recreational opportunities abound with

Max Located along US Highway 83, 28 miles south of Minot, Max offers
friendly small town services including: restaurants, convenience
store, gas, bait and tackle. The city is home to the famed
"Cowpie Open" golf tournament which is held annually on a
course that was originally designed as a joke. The annual Max Pasta
Day and the annual Max Roughrider Rodeo held in early August are

Mercer Located in extreme eastern McLean County this city is famed for its

Riverdale Located 8 miles west of US Highway 83 on ND Highway 200, Riverdale
is located lake-side to the Garrison Dam and the Missouri River

Turtle Lake
Located in east central McLean County, Turtle Lake is surrounded by
a series of 18 small fishing lakes. The community offers full services

Located within prairie pothole country this area offers excellent

Underwood Located just off US Highway 83, 15 miles south of the Garrison Dam,
Underwood offers excellent fishing and hunting opportunities.
Underwood offers many services to visitors and is home to the McLean
County Fairgrounds and the McLean County Speedway. Westridge Golf Club
is also located in Underwood and is said to be one of the nicest

Washburn
Located just 40 miles north of Bismarck and 68 miles south of
Minot, Washburn offers many recreational activities and beneficial
services. Washburn is the county seat of McLean County and home of the
Lewis & Clark
Interpretive Center and Fort
Mandan. Visitors can walk back in time by touring one of two
museums located here. One of these being the McLean County Historical
Museum which is operated by the McLean County Historical Society.
