Sportsmen's Centennial Park: Located five miles east, two miles south and one mile west
of Garrison, this 120 acre park was opened in 1989 and is operated by the McLean County
Park Board. Situated on the shores of Lake Sakakawea, the park is still in the development
stage but offers many services.
Campers will find 18 electrical hookup sites and 100 primitive (non-electrical) sites. Most sites have picnic tables and fire rings. There are three vault toilets as well as new restroom and shower facilities. The new multi-purpose building houses the modern restrooms, a meeting room and concession store, as well as the park maintenance shop area. There are picnic shelters for day use and a modern fish cleaning station. The park has two boat ramps with docks. There is also a softball field and volleyball court, as well as a hiking trail. A stocked trout pond, ideal for youngsters to fish, is located one mile east of the park and the surrounding area offers a wide range of opportunities to view wildlife and waterfowl in season. The park is open from May 1 to October 30. Overnight camping fees are $12.00 for electrical hook-ups and $9.00 for all other sites. The park is patrolled by the McLean County Sheriff's Department and offers a safe family-orientated environment. Reservations are accepted. There are no entrance fees required. Stevenson State Park takes its name from an early day frontier Army post. The park
overlooks the site of the fort, which now lies beneath the surface of giant Lake Sakakawea.
Fort Stevenson is a full-service facility complete with a marina and two large boat
ramps. The park offers tent sites, 109 RV sites and has 95 electrical hook-ups and water
hydrants. There are shower and restroom facilities, a sewer dump station, and a modern
fish cleaning station. The park also has a concession store and boat fuel is available.

For additional information telephone (701)337-5576.West Totten Trail Recreation Site: Located one mile west of Totten Trail Restaurant and Lounge off US Highway 83. Offers day use only with boat ramp, dock and parking facilities. Deepwater Bay Recreation Site: Located four miles west and one mile south of junction of ND Highway 1804 and ND Highway 37. Fronts Lake Sakakawea. Offers primitive camping, boat ramp, boat dock, boat fuel, concessions, drinking water, fireplaces, picnic shelters, picnic tables and vault toilets. Snake Creek Recreation Site: Located one mile south of County Road 8 west of Snake Creek Cabin site. Offers boat ramp, dock and vault toilets. Day use only, no overnight camping in recreation area. Cross Ranch State Park: Located south of Washburn, (701)794-3731, primitive, 25 tent, 40 RV sites, shower, cabin, sewer. |
