Boat Ramp Report

Low water levels on Lake Sakakawea have greatly reduced the number of operational boat ramps within McLean County.  While the number of usable facilities will be down during the 2004 boating season,  combined efforts by the North Dakota Game and Fish Department, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, North Dakota State Parks and Recreation, and McLean County, will provide adequate access to much of lower Lake Sakakawea.

Listed below are ramp sites and conditions on Lake Sakakawea's north shore within McLean County.

West Totten Trail Recreation Site

Located one mile west of the Snake Creek Pumping Plant, this ramp will be closed indefinitely. It is currently dry and is not usable until lake levels reach 1828 feet m.s.l.

The existing all-level ramp at the park is currently out of service until water levels reach 1828 feet m.s.l.
